Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate) 75mg capsules
Indication(s): Treatment of uncomplicated acute illness due to influenza infection in adults who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days (influenza A and B).
Administration: 75mg twice daily for 5 days. Begin treatment within 2 days of onset of influenza symptoms.
Pharmacology: Neuraminidase inhibition of influenza virus.
WebRx Editorial Notes: Most effective when taken early on (within 2 days of symptom onset). Better tolerated when taken with food. Tamiflu is not a substitute for a flu shot.
